Dream Theater

Long time without visiting my own blog.
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I got the concert DVD of Dream Theater's Score:XOX 20th anniversay world tour with the Octavarium Orchestra.
I actualy ordered this DVD for my son as a christmas present but when I first heard it I went nuts! It reminded me of those days in the late 70's and early 80's when a good record realy hit you hard.
What a great band! all profesionals in their fields. Great singer and a great sound.
No music lover should miss this magnificent concert.

Another recent adquisition is Porcupine Tree's Arriving Somewhere live DVD.
Wilson and band in their best!
Excelent recording and a great concert.

These two concerts along with Marillion's Marbles in the Road are the best stuff I have heard in the last years.

My new toys

1- DVD (DTS) de Boz Scaggs "The Best Of"
2- DVD (DTS) de Diana Krall "Live in Paris"
3- SACD de Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"
4- CD-DTS de Porcupine Tree "In Absentia"
5- DVD (DTS) de Allison Krauss and Union Station "Live"
I am happy with my new toys.

we believe.......

we believe there is a place that lives within us
it is a place of vision and clarity , where the rythm of life moves in harmony with a higher consiousness.
The purpose of the music is to take you there.

My Music

My Music

Last night's music affair

Last night, scotch at hand, while in my music room (which is also my son's bedroom) and listening to Porcupine Tree "In Absentia" DTS 5.1 CD, I was wondering how is it possible to switch from one tipe of music to another and still enjoy it the same?. Do you have to be in certain mood to enjoy jazz?. So I made a drastical switch from Porcupine Tree to Carly Simon's concert DVD "Live at the Queen Mary II" where she preforms songs from her great american songbook's CD "Moonlight Serenade" and hey! Diferent music, same joy! From Carly Simon I moved to Al Di Meola's DVD "One Night Only" recorded in a concert in Germany along with a string quartet. Again, diferent music, same joy! Finally I ended listening to James Taylor's "October Road" Super Audio CD. Very diferent music but very same joy!
So good music is always good music.

My Music

While I wait to recieve from Amazon the latest Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater concert DVDs, I enjoy listening to my latest masterpiece, Diana Krall Live in Paris.
This magnificent DVD has great video and outstanding audio in DTS 5.1
All musicians are top notch. Musical arrangements are first class.
Diana's voice is like heaven on earth.
From a prog rock fan like me, belive me, this is one of the best DVDs I have ever seen (and heard).

My Music

I want to start this blog to share with music fans what I listen to, what I like, some CD and DVD reviews and other things musical.
